Where can I find my reading list?

Your reading lists are available on your SOL unit page, just look for the eye icon. There may be a list for core texts, recommended texts or weekly readings.

 

How do I access SOL?

SOL can be found under the Solent signpost on the University portal. Log in to SOL using your university username and password.

 

I can’t find a reading list on my unit page – what should I do?

Please contact your unit leader to advise you on this.

I’ve been through the Library Catalogue and all the books I need are out on loan.  What can I do?

You can place a reservation on this title and you will be notified as soon as it has been returned to the library.

 

I can’t see next week’s readings yet. What should I do?

It may be that your lecturer hasn’t set any specific reading for that week. Please contact your unit leader.

 

One of the links on my reading list is broken. What should I do?

Please use the 'Report broken link' function in the vertical ellipsis to the right of the item on the list or contact the Library so that we can fix it. You will find a Contact the Library link at the bottom of each reading list or use our Enquiry Hub.

 

Is everything on my reading list available from the Library?

Everything on your reading list should be available from the library. Occasionally, where materials have been ordered/requested, the library may still be awaiting them. Please check any notes on the reading list indicating whether a book is on order, a digitised copy has been requested or the item is unavailable.

 

How do I print my reading list?

Just use the File/Print settings from your browser

 

Can I access my reading list from off campus?

Yes, you can but you may find that you are prompted to log in to access the ebooks and online journal articles on your reading list.

 

I’ve done all the reading on my reading list. Where can I go for further reading?

For books and audiovisual material search the Library catalogue. For newspaper and journal articles, market research reports, law reports, financial information etc. you will need to search the Library's eResources or contact your Information Librarian for help.
