A guide to the Library Reading List system in myCourse.
Your reading lists are available on your SOL unit page, just look for the eye icon. There may be a list for core texts, recommended texts or weekly readings.
SOL can be found under the Solent signpost on the University portal. Log in to SOL using your university username and password.
Please contact your unit leader to advise you on this.
You can place a reservation on this title and you will be notified as soon as it has been returned to the library.
It may be that your lecturer hasn’t set any specific reading for that week. Please contact your unit leader.
Please use the 'Report broken link' function in the vertical ellipsis to the right of the item on the list or contact the Library so that we can fix it. You will find a Contact the Library link at the bottom of each reading list or use our Enquiry Hub.
Everything on your reading list should be available from the library. Occasionally, where materials have been ordered/requested, the library may still be awaiting them. Please check any notes on the reading list indicating whether a book is on order, a digitised copy has been requested or the item is unavailable.
Just use the File/Print settings from your browser.
Yes, you can but you may find that you are prompted to log in to access the ebooks and online journal articles on your reading list.
For books and audiovisual material search the Library catalogue. For newspaper and journal articles, market research reports, law reports, financial information etc. you will need to search the Library's eResources or contact your Information Librarian for help.
