Directed and collaborative learning
What was previously referred to as contact time is now split into directed and collaborative learning. Directed learning is made up of mainly on-line, on-demand activities that provide students with the knowledge about a topic. Collaborative learning is made up of mainly social experiential activities that provide students with an opportunity to discuss, analyze, critique, test, and apply their knowledge to real world scenarios.
