Student assessed recordings

A number of courses have used the lecture capture system to record students' presentations or vivas. 

These recordings have:

  • focused on formative and summative assignments 
  • replaced the use of loaned DVD cameras from the resource centres. 
The ease with which the recordings can be made and subsequently shared with external examiners, as well as the students themselves, has proved extremely popular.

Below is an example of a lecture capture screen:

This works in exactly the same way that you would record a lecture, the difference being that students will only have access to the recordings they make, Tutors and external examiner will have access to all recordings. Any module that has already been provisioned with Panopto will automatically have an assignments folder created. Students will only be able to record to the assignment folder of that module.
