The Warsash Library and Southampton Mountbatten LIbrary provides both a physical and virtual book collection (eBooks). There are about 200,000 titles available to browse and borrow between both Library buildings, and there are also about 35,000 titles available as eBooks.
The main print book stock for all aspects of maritime and shipping is found in the Southampton Mountbatten Library on Floors 1B and 1A. The are also titles in Warsash Library.
There is a concise reference collection housed within the 'Student Study Area' in St Mary's campus. This collection shows on the library catalogue as St Mary's collection and is for use in Student Study Area only. Copies can be loaned from the main Mountbatten Library.
The library's eBooks collection is available online and can usually be accessed off campus. When searching the library catalogue, refine your results to Books and Online Resources to see what is available, you may need to use your university username and password to access eBooks off campus.
How many books can I borrow?
Undergraduate students = 15 library items
Final year students = 20 library items.
Postgraduate students = 25 library items
Academic, research and support staff = 25 library items
How do I borrow books?
You will need your campus card to borrow books. You can use the self service machine in the Library to issue your books to your account.
