We are the business and service owners for many critical student-facing learning, teaching and assessment services, and we drive the continuous improvement of the digital learning environment.
We do this by improving usability and accessibility, streamlining working practices in consultation with staff and students, and managing supplier liaison, compliance and reporting.

Role at SolentI am the Learning Technologies Services Manager and provide support for and development of the Virtual Learning Environment, ensuring that online assessment submission and e-portfolio systems provide a reliable and intuitive service.I chair the VLE Continuous Improvement Group.
ExperienceMy first computer was a Dragon32. After school I spent 10 years working in the Civil Service operating an ICL (Series39) mainframe - a similar computer is in the National Computing Museum. I left the Civil Service to do a degree in Linguistics with Italian followed by a Masters in Computational Linguistics. I worked for a number of years as a Computational Linguist developing algorithms to parse and extract information from text. I took up web development in the mid-2000s before specialising in Moodle development at Chichester University in 2013. I joined Solent in 2021.Qualifications- BA(hons) Linguistics with Italian
