Keep on track
Tutorials
The best way to keep on track with your project is to get the most out of your dissertation tutorials. Prepare in advance for tutorials, deciding what you want to cover. If you would like your tutor to look at your data or work, send documents well in advance.

Managing your project
A large project requires you to break down the big tasks into smaller components. Complete these tasks and monitor your progress along the way. In every large project there will be unexpected hurdles you face and different pressures on your time. The one thing which is not flexible, is your final deadline. Plan to complete your project well in advance, so that as the deadline approaches, you are confident that you have something to submit. See the Managing Time and Stress section for more details on the types of strategies and software you can use to keep on track.
Create a writing group with friends
It can be hard to stay motivated and on task when you sit down to write on your own. Keep on track with your friends by creating a regular dissertation writing group. Arrange to meet in a quiet place, agree to periods of silent work, breaks and time to discuss progress and problems.
