You are expected to look for and select relevant sources that will help you develop your understanding of a topic and address your assignment brief.
Why is it important?
Research is a vital part of developing a strong and personal understanding of a topic. By exploring appropriate and reliable sources of information you will be able to shape your own views and make informed decisions.
How do I do it?
Start with your reading list. These are the core texts for your topic and will give you a strong foundation. Then you can use keywords (not just the assignment title) to explore the library catalogues and databases, and then the wider internet, for relevant material. Check out the reference lists of everything you read, and search for author names too.
