'Blocks' is the collective term for the panels that appear on the sides of every page in SOL. These blocks are generally useful for grouping material together in one easy to reach location. Blocks are often used for quick reference to material, providing quick links to other parts of SOL or to the page or they are used to display information that is already active in the unit.
Blocks are either passive or interactive. Passive blocks work automatically, they do not require any setting up other than being put on the unit and they are used to display information that is already active in the unit. Interactive Blocks are those which require input from the users. These blocks generally take the form of quizzes and polls, etc.
Users are encouraged to place blocks in pages to organise material. Use the menu on the left for a set-up guide and for further information on specific blocks and when to use them.
