    There are, sport, fitness and outdoor databases (eResources) that will provide a range of information within all your subject areas. Some may have full text articles available online, others you may have to check the Library Catalogue to see if full text is available.  Click to see details of usernames/passwords and subject coverage.

      • SPORTDiscus with Full Text  for sports & sports sciences and medicine journals.   Link to video
      • Off Campus Access -A university username and password is needed to access this resource. Choose UK Higher Education and then Southampton Solent University, then your university username and password.


      • Taylor & Francis   full-text articles on sport and leisure - Link to video
      • Off campus: A university username and password is required to access this resource. Click on SIGN IN, select the Shibboleth option, and then select Southampton Solent University, then your university username and password

      • Physical Education Index  indexes and abstracts of articles covering all aspects of sport and physical education
      • Off campus: A university username and password is needed to access this resource. Click on the 'Login via UK Federation' button. Select Southampton Solent University from the drop-down menu and click on Select

      • ABI Inform - full text journals, magazines 
      • Off-Campus access - enter your university username and password

      • ScienceDirect - full-text database offering journal articles and book chapters.  - Link to video
      • Off campus: Click on Sign In. Under Login via your Institution, click on Other Institution Login. Then go to the drop down menu for Select your Region or Group and click on UK Access Management Federation. Select Southampton Solent University from the list and enter your University username and password

      • Mintel - market research reports within a wide range of general consumer goods as well as leisure sectors, including football clubs, etc  
      • Off-campus Choose Federated login and then Southampton Solent University

      • Pedro - evidence based physiotherapy database (abstracts only)
      • No password required on or off-campus

      • PubMed - index to medical articles
      • No password required on or off-campus

      • BoB - Box of Broadcasts - tv and radio programmes - set recordings yourself or look for one of the million plus already on the system.  Create clips and add them to presentations.    Link to video
      • Off Campus Access - Click sign in  and then type in Southampton Solent University and then your usual university username and password

      • Statista - statistics on almost everything. Link to Video

      • KeyNote
         - a similar resource to Mintel and particularly good for Football Club information.  

      • Fame -  a business accounting resource, but with financial results for companies, especially good for football clubs
      •  Off-Campus - Choose Login through your library or institution and then Southampton Solent University and then your usual university login and password

      • Web of Science  - high level research database. 
      • Select Institutional (Shibboleth) Users, then, UK Federation - Choose Southampton Solent University from the drop down and then your usual university login and password.

      • Childlink -  really aimed at Social Workers working with children,  but there is a lot of information on safeguarding  and  health, particularly obesity.    Link to video 
      • Off Campus access - Login via your institution, then UK Access Management Federation, then select Southampton Solent University, then your university username and password
